+++ Fr. Timothy Alban Hopkins Leaves Us For Eternity +++

The death of Fr. Timothy Alban Hopkins, age 56, in an accident at home, has been a terrible shock to all who knew and loved this kindhearted and tireless Catholic priest. He was ordained a priest by His Grace, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre on March 20th, 1988 and remained throughout his life a close friend and loyal supporter of the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X. As a staunch defender of Christian Civilization and devoted shepherd of souls, Fr. Hopkins founded the National Shrine of Saint Philomena at 1621 SW 6 Street, Miami, FL 33135. The Shrine offers the Catholic faithful the Traditional Latin Mass and sacramental rites.

Father was fluent in several languages and welcomed people from all over the world at the Shrine. He was very knowledgeable of national and international affairs and of Catholic Social Thought. All who were touched by his piety, intellect, faith, and pastoral solicitude mourn him. He will be sorely missed.

The public viewing was from 3 PM to 7 PM, Sunday, November 6th, 2011 at the Shrine of Saint Philomena. The Requiem Mass was on Monday, November 7th, 2011 at 10 AM. Christian Burial was immediately after the Requiem Mass at Little Havana’s Woodlawn Park Cemetery, 3260 SW 8 Street, Miami.

With the tragic passing of Fr. Hopkins on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, the National Shrine of Saint Philomena, founded by him in 1989, is now under the loving pastoral care of the North American District of the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX). The fathers of the SSPX immediately arrived to offer the Requiem Mass and Funeral ceremonies, and are totally devoted to the spiritual needs and aspirations of Miami-Dade county’s growing Traditional Catholic community.

Resquiat in Pacem Fr. Timothy Alban Hopkins.

Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and

may Your perpetual light shine upon him.

May he rest in peace. Amen.
